Warner Bros. has released the first poster for\u00a0Joker: Folie \u00e0 Deux<\/a> \u2014\u00a0<\/em>and also revealed when we\u2019ll get the first trailer for the movie.<\/p>\n In a Facebook post, Warners revealed that much-anticipated\u00a0sequel will debut its teaser one week from today, on Tuesday April 9.<\/p>\n The movie reunites co-writer\/director Todd Phillips<\/a> with star (and Oscar winner) Joaquin Phoenix<\/a> from the original\u00a0Joker<\/a><\/em>, which became a shockingly huge smash in the fall of 2019, grossing more than $1 billion worldwide, despite it not containing Joker\u2019s famous arch-nemesis Batman, or any other major DC Comics superheroes.<\/p>\n The sequel, adds at least one major DC character to the mix: Lady Gaga<\/a>, playing the Joker\u2019s longtime girlfriend, Harley Quinn.\u00a0Unlike the original\u00a0Joker<\/em>, the sequel\u00a0is also a musical. It\u2019s definitely been a while.<\/p>\n After the original movie became a huge hit, both Phillips and Phoenix expressed interest in making a sequel. Rumors of the project<\/a> first emerged in the spring of 2021. One year later, Phillips confirmed the project<\/a> by sharing a picture of its script \u2014 and thus revealing its\u00a0Folie \u00e0 Deux\u00a0<\/em>subtitle \u2014 on his Instagram account. Lady Gaga joined the project as the new Harley Quinn<\/a> not long after.<\/p>\n Warner Bros. could use another\u00a0Joker-<\/em>sized hit; all of their DC movies last year were disappointments at the box office.
