Anne Hathway<\/b> has apologized to journalist <\/span>Kjersti Flaa<\/b> for being \u201cdismissive\u201d during a <\/span>2012 interview<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

In a<\/span> video<\/span> titled <\/span>This might be the worst interview idea ever,<\/span><\/i> Kjersti discussed the time she interviewed Anne following the release of the musical <\/span>Les Mis\u00e9rables<\/span><\/i>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The<\/span> Norwegian reporter<\/span><\/a> came up with an unconventional way to get to know the cast while honoring the movie\u2019s genre.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI was going to ask you to do the first question in singing. Can I sing it to you? And you can sing back the answer?\u201d she said.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWell, I won\u2019t be doing that. But you\u2019re more than welcome to sing,\u201d<\/span> the 41-year-old actress<\/a><\/span> replied after laughing at the request.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cShe hated me. Let\u2019s face it, she really hated me,\u201d Kjersti said in a video posted Sunday (October 6) on her YouTube channel. \u201cAnd she didn\u2019t like that idea at all either. That was pretty obvious.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cSo Anne Hathaway was not very excited to be singing to me, and that interview just went completely downhill after that,\u201d the Los Angeles-based journalist described.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cShe was just being, like, so dismissive of me.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

In 2012, the Oscar winner sat down for an interview with Kjersti to promote the musical film Les Mis\u00e9rables\u00a0<\/em><\/h3>\n

She continued: \u201cMaybe it was too much to ask her to sing back. But she could have been nice for the rest of the interview. I was just sitting there trying to make it a little more fun for everyone, and she wasn\u2019t having it, and then she was annoyed with me for the rest of the time.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

After Anne refused to sing during the interview, Kjersti asked her if she believed that \u201clove was more passionate back then\u201d and if she remembered her first crush. The<\/span> Interstellar<\/span><\/i> actress<\/span><\/a> simply responded \u201cNo\u201d to both questions.<\/span><\/p>\n

The interview ended with<\/span> Anne<\/span><\/a> shaking Kjersti\u2019s hand and awkwardly looking down.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Norwegian journalist asked Anne and other cast members to \u201csing back their answers\u201d in honor of the film\u2019s musical genre<\/h3>\n

In her video, the reporter recalled that other cast members, such as Hugh Jackman, Eddie Redmayne, and Amanda Seyfried, played along with the idea during their individual interviews.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to Kjersti, a representative from the studio that made <\/span>Les Mis\u00e9rables<\/span><\/i> threatened to \u201cblacklist\u201d her if she didn\u2019t take the video down when she posted it in 2012.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cHe was like, \u2018You know, if you, if people are going to see that, you might be blacklisted.\u2019 And I was like, \u2018Okay.\u2019 Basically, because she wasn\u2019t very nice.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cShe hated me. Let\u2019s face it, she really hated me. \u201cAnd she didn\u2019t like that idea at all either,\u201d Kjersti said in a recent video<\/h3>\n

Kjersti went on to say that she interviewed the Oscar winner on subsequent occasions, and she was \u201cvery sweet.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

In a<\/span> follow-up video<\/span><\/a> posted on Wednesday (October 9), the journalist revealed that she received an email from Anne in response to her recent comments.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cYesterday, I did receive an email. It was from Anne Hathaway\u2019s publicist, and he forwarded a message to me from<\/span> Anne Hathaway<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI have to say, I was pretty shocked. I had not expected her to reach out to me at all. I thought she was never gonna even see that video. But she did. And she did something pretty amazing.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

After sharing the interview, Kjersti said she received a \u201clong email\u201d from Anne, who apologized for giving her \u201can awful interview\u201d<\/h3>\n

Kjersti said she received \u201ca long email explaining to me what she was going through right then when she did this interview.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt was so touching to me. Just talking about it makes me almost teary-eyed \u2019cause I was just so grateful that she did that. And it was a very personal note.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Kjersti decided not to share exactly what Anne said in the email.<\/span><\/p>\n

Moreover, she said the<\/span> Princess Diaries<\/span><\/i> star<\/span><\/a> invited her for another interview when <\/span>Flowervale Street<\/span><\/i>, a sci-fi film also starring Ewan McGregor, comes out in May 2025.<\/span><\/p>\n

Anne<\/span> is expected<\/a><\/span> to reprise her role as Mia Thermopolis, the Princess of Genovia, in <\/span>The Princess Diaries 3<\/span><\/i>, though Disney has yet to make an official announcement.<\/span><\/p>\n
