Let\u2019s go Voltron Force!!<\/p>\n<p>The Superman and\u00a0<em>Man From U.N.C.L.E.\u00a0<\/em>star is reportedly joining forces with the\u00a0<em>Voltron<\/em>\u00a0team, which is readying a live-action version of the \u201980s cartoon series, directed by <a href=\"https:\/\/screencrush.com\/tags\/rawson-marshall-thurber\/\">Rawson Marshall Thurber<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>According to\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/movies\/movie-news\/henry-cavill-to-star-in-voltron-movie-1236029518\/\">The Hollywood Reporter<\/a><\/em>, Cavill joins a cast that already includes Daniel Quinn-Toye.<\/p>\n<p><em>Voltron\u00a0<\/em>was a kids TV staple of the 1980s. It debuted in 1984, adapted from the Japanese anime series\u00a0<em>Beast King Go-Lion<\/em>. Its showcase star was the robot that lent the series its title, which was a sort of giant transformer comprised of five individual lion robots that joined up to create\u00a0one massive fighting machine.<\/p>\n<p>The transformation sequence was a centerpiece of the show. Previously Netflix had their own update of\u00a0<em>Voltron<\/em>, an animated series called\u00a0<em>Voltron: Legendary Defender.\u00a0<\/em>The series lasted for eight seasons of 78 episodes, and its showrunners included Joaquim Dos Santos, who went on to co-direct\u00a0<em>Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Voltron<\/em>\u00a0would make two big \u201980s franchise revivals that Cavill is currently attached to.
